Project #3 from the Use Your Stash Challenge

Project #3 - Flower Pillow

Here we are, almost halfway through the Challenge, and I am thrilled that I have finished project #3, the Floral Pillow! If I never get anything else done during this challenge, I will be happy just knowing I’ve completed these first three projects that have been staring me in the face for so long. It feels good to see things moving out of the “Almost Finished” queue and into the “Completed Project” pile.

Project #3 – Floral Pillow

I started on the floral pillow early in the Challenge — about the time when the granny square blanket reached the joining phase. The flower squares floated around in my purse with a hook and a pair of scissors for a week while I crocheted my way through waiting for appointments.

Here are some of the starting photos. The blue that attaches all of the squares together is actually turquoise. You can see how beautiful it is in the final photos.

Remember how I said that if you don’t have the supplies to finish something then just set it aside until the challenge is over? Well, I couldn’t find my buttons for the back of this pillow, so I ended up sewing it closed.

These flowers just make me happy!

The bright hues and fun textures will add a snap of color to our bedroom.

Next Project

In an effort to continue using up my stash, I am moving on to the next project. It will be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle hat for my grandson. I know it will work up fast, so I have my next project lined up already. It will be this baby blanket which is waiting on more crochet.
